MyST (https://myst-tools.org) is an open-source markup language designed for scientific documents. Curvenote is Word-style WYSIWYG editor built on top of open-source MyST. Articles written in MyST or Curvenote can be exported to any format including LATEX, JATS and Word, and are thereby more future-compatible.
